How the bread gets made
What Time Binds
What Time Binds is reported and verified by me. I read what is going on in the world, stories that I care about, pull the archives, validate the datestamped to the best of my abilities, talk to the witnesses if possible, and build my position. I answer the comments when I feel they need an answer. When I get something wrong, I pin the correction where everyone can see it. I hold institutions to that same standard.
I use AI tools to brainstorm. AI helps me research, check claims against sources, build graphics that would take me hours on my own, and draft and tighten prose. I do my best to have my voice come through. Nothing publishes without my strict review. Because of the work I do, no claims post without me checking it first. You never have to take my word for anything, and you should not take AI's word for it. I know I have the epistemic responsibility.
Guest writers describe their own process, and I will add an editor’s note on each.
The judgments are mine and so is the record-keeping. Ask me directly if you want to know how much any specific piece leaned on the tools. I will not hide my usage of AI.
If I change my process, I will share it here with the date those changes were made.
